We will be starting around 10 a.m. after the 9:00 morning Mass and will end around noon with free pizza and chips for all. If you are able to come out and help, please sign up in the back of Church or call one of the Sisters at 623-213-5478 so that we will have enough pizza etc. Please dress modestly (ladies, please wear skirts) and bring rakes, clippers, gloves etc. if you have any. Thank you for helping to beautify the Church grounds!
*100th year anniversary: This October 13th will be the 100th year anniversary of Our Lady’s apparitions at Fatima, and the miracle of the sun. As this is also our parish’s name day, we will be having an evening Mass at 5:00 pm that day, followed by a potluck and a play about the story of Fatima, performed by the students of Our Lady of the Sun Academy. If you are able to attend, please sign up in the vestibule for the potluck. Hope to see you there!
*Sunday Catechism: Any parents, who wish to send their children to catechism classes after Mass on Sundays, should please see Sister Maria Jacinta CMD.
*Please help Support Our Lady of the Sun Academy: You can redirect your tax dollars to support our school through the Tops for Kids program. Please find the fliers in the vestibule for more information.
*Mater Dei Seminary: There will be a second collection for Mater Dei Seminary next Sunday.
September 26 – Feast of the North American Martyrs
The North American Martyrs were eight Jesuit missionaries who came from Europe to spread the Catholic Faith among the North American Indians. They were tortured and killed on various dates during the mid-17th century in Canada, in what is now southern Ontario and upper state New York by the Iroquois Indians. The martyrs’ names are: St. Rene Goupil (1642), St. Isaac Jogues (1646), St. Jean de Lalande (1646), St. Antoine Daniel (1648), St. Jean de Brebuf (1649), St. Noel Chabanel (1649), St. Charles Garnier (1649) and St. Gabriel Lalemant (1649).
